Devonport High School for Girls

A message from the Blurt Foundation

Apologies for adding to the number of Coronavirus emails in your inbox – we hope that this one is a little different and brings with it some comfort and calm.

Apologies for adding to the number of Coronavirus emails in your inbox – we hope that this one is a little different and brings with it some comfort and calm.

We’ve created The Coronavirus Helpful Hub. It’s packed full of information, resources, and ideas designed to carry us through these strange times. We really hope that you find them helpful. Please do share these resources with any parents and young people you work with if you think they'd help them, too.

We’re written, and continue to write and add to, new resources:

-       Coronavirus And Your Mental Health

-       Remote-Working: Sharing What We’ve Learned

-       Coronavirus: Resources For Parents And For Children

-       Coronavirus: Keeping Busy And Connected

Our hub includes a 'parenting' section because we recognise that many parents are suddenly juggling working from home with childcare (which isn't always an easy task!).

We’ve also listed two of our books as free downloads:

-       Your Sensory Self-Care Toolkit

-       Getting To Know You Workbook

Social Community Connection And Care

We’ve launched two new ways to connect on social media.

On Twitter and Instagram, we’ve started using the hashtag #SeekingSunshine to share three things each day that have brought us comfort and warmth. There are some lovely posts coming through, including a daily #LambOClock update.

Each day on Twitter and Facebook, we also facilitate a check-in at 11am GMT each day through the hashtag #BlurtCheckingIn. It’s been lovely to see people supporting one another through the comments.

We’re continuing to update our Hub regularly, and to re-work how we work so that we can be as helpful as possible.

Please keep looking after yourself and prioritising self-care during this tricky time.
