Year 11 Celebration Day 2025
Our wonderful Year 11s have had the most fantastic Celebration Day – and what a day it was! This incredible year group, full of the kindest and most generous souls, truly deserved every moment of fun and recognition.
Since joining the school, they have overcome unique challenges, including the early experience of lockdown during COVID. Throughout it all, they've shown genuine resilience, maturity, and compassion. They've worked incredibly hard in the lead-up to their public exams, and we couldn't be prouder of them.
The day began with an inspirational talk from Ceri, a former student who is currently working as an ambulance technician and is about to embark on a paramedic degree. Her words truly resonated with the students – and fittingly, as the morning talk ended, the sun broke through the clouds and shone down on the year group for the rest of the day.
There was laughter and celebration as students enjoyed the inflatables, zorbs, shirt-signing, and group photos with friends. Many had taken genuine care in designing and decorating their shirts ahead of the day – and the results looked amazing!
After a celebration lunch in the hall, followed by more fresh air and games, students came together for their final assembly. In the morning, they also collected their leavers' hoodies – and within the collage of photos there is one showing the entire year group proudly wearing them.
A huge thank you goes to Miss Lynch, who orchestrated and arranged the entire day. Thanks also to Dr Parry and the Heads of House and team of tutors, whose support for this year's group over the past five years – and today – has been exceptional. We're also incredibly grateful to the many members of staff who helped to set everything up, transformed the hall, and contributed to making the day so special.
It was a joyful day for a lovely group of young people. We wish them every success in their forthcoming exams and beyond – and we look forward to seeing many of them over the coming weeks for revision lessons and support as they prepare for the final push.
