2018 unvalidated results

GCSE

  • 60.5% A*-A/9-7 grades, top grades for new and legacy GCSEs have been combined using Ofqual guidance which equates a new grade 7 with the legacy grade A.
  • 100% Basics Standard Pass, which is the percentage of students achieving 9-4 in English and mathematics.
  • 97% Basics Strong Pass, which is the percentage of students achieving 9-5 in English and mathematics.
  • 85% of the Year 11 cohort were entered for the English Baccalaureate meaning they studied at least English, mathematics, History or Geography, a modern foreign language and a science.
  • 81% English Baccalaureate Standard Pass, which is the percentage of students achieving 9-4 in English, mathematics, a humanities (History or Geography), a modern foreign language and a science.
  • 67% English Baccalaureate Strong Pass, which is the percentage of students achieving 9-5 in English, mathematics, a humanities (History or Geography), a modern foreign language and a science.
  • Attainment 8: 71.3 (A grade average), which is our students average total point score across a suite of 8 qualifying subjects.
  • Progress 8: +0.57, which is a progress score shown as a proportion of a grade. The average grade our students achieved (Attainment 8) compared with students nationally who had a similar starting point (prior attainment) at the end of primary school. This figures means that on average our students achieved over half a grade higher than similar students national in 2018.

A level

  • %A*-B grades: 61%.
  • A Level average points score per entry/average grade: 38 (B- grade).
  • A Level progress score: -0.09, which is a progress score shown as a proportion of a grade. The average grade our students achieved compared with students nationally who had a similar starting point (prior attainment) at the end of GCSE. This is a predicted figure based on 2017 national data set and will be updated when 2018 national data becomes available.

  • Attainment 8: 72 (A grade average), which is our students average total point score across a suite of 8 qualifying subjects.
  • Progress 8: +0.66, which is a progress score shown as a proportion of a grade. The average grade our students achieved (Attainment 8) compared with students nationally who had a similar starting point (prior attainment) at the end of primary school.
  • Student destinations – 2013 = 98%, 2014 = 100%, 2015 = 99%. The percentage of students who stay in sustained education or move into employment/training.

  • Academic progress score: +0.06, which is a progress score shown as a proportion of a grade. The average grade our students achieved compared with students nationally who had a similar starting point (prior attainment) at the end of GCSE.
  • Applied general average points score per entry/average grade: 50 (D* grade).
  • Applied general progress score: 0.00, which is a progress score shown as a proportion of a grade. The average grade our students achieved compared with students nationally who had a similar starting point (prior attainment) at the end of GCSE.
  • Technical level average points score per entry/average grade: 42.5 (D* grade).
  • Student retention: 97%. The % of students who complete their main course of study.
  • Student destinations: 2013 = 86%, 2014 = 93%, 2015 = 92%. The percentage of students staying in education or employment for at least 2 terms after 16 to 18 study.
